02. ear — Ne Plus Ultra

ear is a duo — Jonah Paz and Yaelle Avtan — making IDM-influenced electronic music. Ne Plus Ultra was released May 8, 2026, on A24 Music — the music label run by the film studio behind Hereditary, Midsommar, and Everything Everywhere All at Once. The track is 2:49: buzzy bass blowouts, spaceship blips, icy vocals, cut-and-paste sound fragments, kitten cries, 2000s electronica melodies. "Ne Plus Ultra" is Latin — it means "nothing further beyond." Their sophomore album Rumspringa is due May 29, so we're playing this a week before the record.

Placement: Sits directly after villagerrr's 7:34 opener as a short electronic breath. The contrast in length and texture stops the opening segment from becoming too static. Clears space before Ghosts On TV brings the energy back up.
