Gatta Morta — Black Hall

Played: 2026-08-13 (Daily Music Report)

Gatta Morta is a supergroup formed in 2026: Buzz Osborne (Melvins; guitars, vocals), JD Pinkus (Butthole Surfers; bass), Coady Willis (Big Business/Melvins; drums), and Clinton Jacob (Mr. Phylzzz). "Black Hall" (3:00) is a single accompanying the band's debut EP, the surprise-released four-song Burn Witch Burn (4 August 2026, Amphetamine Reptile Records, with a limited physical edition) [The Line of Best Fit, NME, 5 Aug 2026]. A visualizer for "Black Hall" accompanied the release; the digital single was issued via Ipecac Recordings [themelvins.net; SPIN]. Daily Music Report note: a warped, riff-heavy track, described as the band's bruising debut single.
