04. Lime Garden — Downtown Lover

Release date: 10 April 2026 (single out 19 March) Track: 3 of 10 Key / BPM: C#m / 137

Brighton four-piece. Maybe Not Tonight is their second album, produced by Charlie Andrew (Wolf Alice, alt-J).

Frontwoman Chloe Howard wrote Downtown Lover in minutes on an acoustic guitar after reading about what the author called "downtown love" — a constant need for novelty in relationships.

The whole album emerged from what the band describe as a collective "mass breakup" period. Howard: "Part of the ethos of the record is about addressing, rather than ignoring, all the shitty things you've done."

Lime Garden — 23

Finally, we had the Ear Worm of the week with 23 by Lime Garden. It's the second single from their forthcoming album, 'Maybe Not Tonight,' due April 10th, and it is a BOP.
