20. Luna Rosa — The Luge

Release date: March 2026 Track: standalone single Key / BPM: Am / 150

Corby (Northamptonshire) post-punk quartet. First new music since the 2022 EP Brutal Nature. Over 300 gigs played.

Directly inspired by The Walkmen's The Rat — that same relentless motorik drive. Engineered to be "constantly in your face."

Frontman Rory McDade shouts "Parabellum" — from si vis pacem, para bellum: "if you want peace, prepare for war." About confronting inner demons.

BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music, and Radio X have all played the band.

Luna Rosa — Lift Me Up

Played: 2026-07-02 (Segment 2 — Indie open) (new release)

Alt/post-punk/indie quartet from Northamptonshire, picked up by BBC Music Introducing. "Lift Me Up" turns their energy toward hope — "lift me up so I can see the sun" — framing joy as an act of resilience. Closes the opening indie run on an upswing.
