Luvcat is the project of Sophie Morgan Howarth, from Liverpool and raised in Cheshire. She performed for years as an acoustic solo artist under her own name before forming Luvcat in 2023, taking the name from The Cure's "The Love Cats." Her debut album Vicious Delicious was released October 2025 on AWAL. "Vampire at the Beach" is the lead single from Lovebites, an EP of murder ballads due 22 May 2026. The track sits in the sinister romance mode she has built the project around. Placement: opens the show cold, setting the gothic-tinged indie tone before any introduction.
TikTok angle: Luvcat named her project after The Cure song "The Love Cats." She has a murder ballads EP (Lovebites) out next month. This track, Vampire at the Beach, opened the show. Delivery: matter-of-fact pace, small pause after "The Cure song" to let it land, no sell.
