MJ Lenderman — She's Leaving You

Lead single from Manning Fireworks, released 24 June 2024 on ANTI-; album followed 6 September 2024. Lenderman plays guitar, drums, bass, vocals, organ, and drone on the track; Karly Hartzman of Wednesday contributes backing vocals; Alex Farrar adds piano. Recorded at Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville, North Carolina. Rolling Stone called it 'one of the greatest songs of the year.' The song depicts a hapless middle-aged man caught cheating: 'Go rent a Ferrari / And sing the blues / Believe that Clapton was the second coming.' The Fader called it the song of the summer. Lenderman co-produced the album with Farrar; Hartzman and Lenderman are also long-time bandmates in Wednesday.
