Smidley — Capstone

Smidley is the solo project of Conor Murphy, frontman of the emo/indie band Foxing. "Capstone" is the lead single from his upcoming album Murphy Horse, set for release 25 September 2026 via Royal Mountain Records. The track features Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus on vocals, with the duet culminating in the lyric "All this loving you has been the capstone." Murphy considers Smidley a space for unfinished or unexplored ideas from his work with Foxing, representing his own growth outside the band. The self-directed music video was shot by Dustie Carter.
