My earworm of the week, this excellent song by London band Sorry is definitely not the saddest thing I ever did here, and for what it's worth, the drugs do work!
Played: 2026-08-20 (TikTok)
Its subject 'Tom' is a satirical British fuckboy — 'a parody of the boy we all know' — who in the lyrics plays you Thom Yorke B-sides, 'fucks you in his car' (it's a Fiat) and 'get[s] you drunk on the finest wine with his Aunt in the countryside.' Dropped 19 August 2026 — the day before this show — via Domino, one of the band's first new cuts (alongside 'Billy Elliot / Alone in Cologne') since their November 2025 album COSPLAY. Self-directed video by vocalist Asha Lorenz & Flo Webb (as FLASHA Prod), full of rear-end slaps, with Lorenz's on-record disclaimer: 'No bums were harmed in the making of this video.'
TikTok angle: Comedy hook: the outrageous real song title, a deadpan parody of a British fuckboy who plays Thom Yorke B-sides — picked as the funniest, most scroll-stopping track of the week.
